You can print an application or obtain one from the Upward Bound Coordinator at your high school. After you have completed the entire application and attached all supporting documents, please return it to your high school Upward Bound Coordinator by September 30.

What to Expect After You Are Accepted

We will send an acceptance letter to your home. After you receive the acceptance letter, please contact your high school’s Upward Bound Coordinator immediately to receive information on weekly meetings. You will meet with your fellow Upward Bound students and Coordinator at least once a week, for at least 60 minutes to obtain helpful information on successfully completing high school, making good career choices and attending college.

There are several things that need to be satisfied:

1. Application

a. Parent tax forms are required as part of the application

2. Parent/student interview

3. 60 day probationary period required for all new participants

Participant MUST attend all weekly meetings at high school
Participant MUST attend the Seminars (always on Saturday)

i. Fall Seminar in November
ii. Winter Seminar in January
iii. Spring Seminar in April

Parent & participant MUST attend the Parent Meetings

i. October
ii. May

College tour for participant

i. Sophomore year – SUU & DSU

ii. Junior year – UVU, UofU, WSU, USU, sometimes BYU

iii. Senior year – UNLV & NSU, CSN
